Stuart Duncan of GMST recently went to Wemyss Bay to present the boys and their coaches
with their new strips.
The club also recently held their Gala day and, with the help of GMST, David McGregor was
invited along to present the boys and girls with their medals and certificates of achievement. David in
return was made a honorary member of the club and received a limited addition club tie.
David McGregor presents the medals
The presentation ceremony was followed by a football tournament where ATFC played a
series of competitive matches against that other well known development club First Touch, and highly
entertaining it was too with some super skills on display and some smashing goals- Euro 2004 eat your heart
With the boys from First Touch now in the Morton under 13s team, it is hoped that the boys
from AFD will soon make the grade and come under the watchful eye of the local Morton scout. Maybe some of the
girls could form the nucleus of the much awaited girls football team at Morton.
For all those McGregor fans out there, David is making a good recovery from his recent
operation on his foot and hopes to be back in training in the next few weeks. Our man in the know reckons
that David may miss the first couple of weeks training in preparation for the new season. We wish David a
speedy recovery and, on behalf of the Supporters' Trust and AFD, thank him for making the journey to Wemyss
Bay to present the medals. A great day was had by all.
